Through Service
What We Do
Oak Utility specializes in directional boring and open trenching applications for underground utilities. Our commitment to Safety is exercised through daily briefings and our ability to communicate appropriately through all levels of a project.
Capabilities
Oak Utility delivers top of the line equipment with industry standard training in operations and safety.
Directional Boring
Oak Utility specializes in installing HDPE and PVC conduit. The products that we install via directional drilling can range in size from 1” – 14”. Detailed below are the sizes of conduit and the footage limits for each of our machines.
2018 Vermeer 24x40 Series 2
With over 24,000lbs of pullback and thrust force, this machine can deliver HDPE installations to fit almost any demand. In the fiber optic and telecommunications world, our 24×40 can handle multiple conduit installations ranging from 1” to 4”in distances up to 800+’. For larger utilities such as gas, water and sewer our 24×40 paired with a 16” reamer can install up to a 14” conduit with a maximum range of 300’.
2018 Vermeer 23x30 Series 2
With a smaller footprint than the 24×40, yet only a minuscule difference in torque and power, our 23×30 machine is the safe and effective answer for tighter work conditions that still require large amounts of conduit. This machine is focused towards 1” to 4” conduit installations, with a maximum reach of 800’ for continuous HDPE applications.
2020 Vermeer 8x12
For situations where utility or fiber optic installations require you to possibly work in someone’s backyard or even tighter circumstances, our 8×12 machine is literally the right fit. With overall dimensions set at 10’x 3’, our 8×12 can still install conduit ranging from 1” to 4” with maximum reach of 250’. This flexibility in size and weight reduces our overall impact to the job-site and logistically gives our customers the freedom to explore different options for their bore paths that the larger machines cannot provide.
Open Trenching
Oak Utility has the ability to perform open trenching with our directional boring capabilities. We have performed open trenching projects that have ranged from 20’ to 10,000’ from Florida to California. Our employees are certified as operators on all of the equipment that we own or operate, as detailed below.
Mini Excavators ranging in size up to pipeline capacity
Backhoe’s for superior digging, trenching, and back-filling
Trenchers ranging in size up to 120hp to handle any job type
Cable Plows efficiently cuts the ground for underground pipe
